Last year, I had the good fortune to travel to Cambodia with my family. Specifically Angkor Wat, a magnificent UNESCO world heritage site..
We took a direct flight to Siem Reap International Airport rather than to the capital Phnom Penh. I absolutely recommend doing this because of Siem Reap’s close proximity to Angkor temples. If we were to arrive at Phnom Penh, we would have to take an additional 6 hour bus ride, and let’s just say that the buses there aren’t quite up to the standards you’re used to.
Once we arrived at our hotel, the lovely staff came to welcome us – our tour group – with drinks and scarves, take about a five star experience. While I’m on the topic of our hotel, I’m going to have to gush about it a bit, or maybe I’ll just bombard you guys with photos. :p
Travelling with our cousin, who is getting married very soon (so excited!), was simply a blast. Kind of gave me a taste of what it would be like to have an older sister, which is something I’ve always wanted. Any other oldest siblings feel the same way? Not that I don’t love my lil’ sis like crazy, which I do. <3
For some reason, living the high life never got old. 😛
Every single meal we had in Cambodia was a buffet style one, I kid you not. Though there was a lot of walking involved, and boy was there a lot, I still gained a few pounds from all the awesome food.
The super delicious afternoon tea we had on our very last day in Cambodia.
Oops, this post is filled with pics from our hotel instead of Angkor Wat. Here’s one final pic which is not of the hotel (finally right?) but of what I meant to write about in this post.
This was taken at a film location of a certain movie starring a certain female action superstar. *cough* Angelina *cough* If you guessed “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” then three gold stars for you. 🙂
