After this event, I’d say that there is next to no chance of me leaving the ELF fandom. I mean, after Heechul’s event the probability was basically nil already, anyways you get my point. I’m going to attempt to write a fan account of the event, with attempt being the operative word. The detail of many fan accounts truly amazes me, quite honestly all I basically remember is screaming my head off and how amazing Leeteuk looks in person. Yup, I’m shallow like that and you could definitely say that memory is not my strong suit. Regardless, I’m going to ‘attempt’ to do so.
The stage was decorated to look like Teukie oppa’s home and he kicked off the event with a ballad version of Devil.
This is the only photo I took because it was technically illegal to take photos at the event and the staff were actually pretty strict about it. As you can probably tell my seat was pretty off to the side, but at least I was in the fourth row.
Back to the opening number, for some unknown reason 3 microphones were involved in this performance. The other 2 microphones were hidden in various places at his “home” and even Leeteuk himself laughed when the 3rd microphone appeared.
After Devil, he introduced himself not as Leeteuk, but as Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk! As you can imagine, he held the Teuk(特) for a very long time.
When the host DJ So What came out, his (the host’s) microphone had a malfunction. But our angel leader was not fazed at all and turned into a microphone salesman. Even though his microphone functioned perfectly well, Leeteuk mimed speaking into a broken microphone as well.
For the photo corner for lack of a better term, Teukie oppa showed us his closet which is way neater than mine haha. There were also a bunch of clothes in the bottom left corner of his closet, he said that they were from fans and that he had yet to wear them.
He also showed us pictures of his many hats, sunglasses, purfumes and shoes. He even came down into the audience and asked a few lucky fans how he smelled. According to them he smells really nice. With all the hats the Super Junior members have among them, I’m pretty sure that they could open their own hat shop, and they’d probably sell out within hours. I know next to nothing about sneakers, but apparently a lot of the sneakers Leeteuk has are of the expensive/collectible variety. At least he himself does not wear those shoes. In fact, he wraps them in some sort of plastic wrap, and keeps them with preservatives to, well, preserve them. Which led the host to joke that fans should give Teukie oppa preservatives as fan gifts.
The basketball/sit up/pull up challenge portion was seriously awesome! Before starting the challenge he demonstrated doing pullups and situps. He got onto the situp machine ridiculously seductively and he pulled up his shirt (with his back facing us) while demonstrating pullups. Let’s just say that everybody screamed a lot. A funny anecdote is that when Leeteuk was explaining the benefits of pullups, something around the lines of strengthening or lifting the chest, 莎莎姐 translated it into,” It can make your chest more UP.” (it makes sense in Chinese, honestly) Needless to say, the crowd erupted in laughter.
It’s pretty amazing how even Suju’s managers have variety chops. One of their managers, a 27 year old male, danced to Twice’s TT and had a clothes (womens clothing) wearing competition. After putting all those layers of clothing on, Leetuek obviously had to take them all off. When he was down to the last one (lingerie) he started to take it off seductively and if I remember correctly, one of the straps broke.
For the final corner, Teukie oppa was supposed to make bibimbap and feed it to a few lucky fans. However the stove would not turn on at all. He definitely seemed a bit flustered by that turn of events.
(Disclaimer: Not everything in this post is in chronological order because my memory is faulty.
Leeteuk danced to PPAP in full costume. (love it when Suju is being weird) PPAP is one of the seriously weird and viral music videos of 2016, just in case you didn’t know. And if you haven’t seen Heechul’s version featuring Yoona than you seriously should.
Teukie oppa sang a medley of Super Junior songs (including Our Love💙), Bii’s Love More, and Coming Home as the finale.
After the fan meeting event ended, it was picture time! By some amazing stroke of luck I was one of the 100 who won the draw to take a photo with Teukie oppa.
