I didn’t take many photos, but I did manage to scream myself hoarse and buy maybe a tad to much running man memorabilia. Such as these cute postcard/keychain/magnet packs.
RM definitely kicked off the event with a huge bang. The opening number was filled energy and super infectious. Even though I didn’t understand a word since it was in Korean, it was still amazing!!!
The funny thing is that less than six months ago, I was adamantly against K-pop and most forms of Korean entertainment. To the point that I would immediately witch the channel if I even heard a word of Korean. To be honest, I was basically prejudiced against Asian entertainment and thought that American entertainment was the only thing worth watching. Quite narrow-minded, I know. Then, my sister started watching Running Man and after ridiculing her for a while I watched an episode along with her and soon became OBSESSED. Kind of funny how it all turned out.
Anyways, back to the fan meeting.
Thanfully there was an interpreter for the interview and game portions of the event because I definitely don’t speak Korean, yet. (learning Korean is one of my goals for 2016) The members also did brief introductions in Chinese. Jihyo apparently forgot how to introduce herself in Chinese but the other members helped her and it was all very sweet. The part where a fan threw Gary an actual squid and whem KJK slapped Kwangsoo’s forehead was also quite hilarious.
It’s really amazing how every single member of RM is such an amazing performer! Kwangsoo’s rendition of “I believe” was incredible and I still can’t believe that I got to hear Kim Jong Kook sing live and that I got to see the Monday Couple performing “Turned Off the TV.” Really really loved Haha’s performance of Rosa, Busan Vacance and some other songs I don’t know the names off too.
Lee Kwang Soo, Yoo Jae Suk & Ji Suk Jin dancing to Orange Caramel’s “A-ing” in drag as well as Kwangsoo’s “weird” dance were way too hilarious. I’m so glad that people take high quality videos of fan meetings and post them on youtube so that I can rewatch the performances and go into hysterics all over again.
Except for the Chinese songs Kim Jong Kook, Ji Suk Jin & Lee Kwang Soo sang, I really din’t understand any of the lyrics. Not that it stopped me from screaming and “trying” to sing along.
Can’t wait till RM comes to Taiwan again. Till then, I’ll just have to make do with binge watching episodes of Running Man to feed my obsession.
