Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow. #truth
See us glowing at the taipei543 neon run 5k!!!
Saturday evening, we participated in a neon run, which was possibly the most fun I’ve ever had at a race. By the time Joy and I arrived at the race site, there were already tons of people and even more glow sticks, lighting up the evening in quite the colorful way.
We even got to catch a glimpse of Taiwanese ultra marathoner Kevin Lin which got me super psyched for the upcoming race. Sadly, it was too bright so you can’t actually tell it’s him in the pic, but I swear it really is him.
Though this was an untimed race, I could tell that I’ve certainly gotten faster than before. Now I know that I’ll never be able to become the type of person who looks at nine minute mile thinking no big deal, but I can and will improve to be the best I can.
Of course, the pre run lara bar Joy and I shared certainly helped, so very delicious!
Moving on to some scenes from the weekend.
Happy Birthday to the most wonderful mom a girl could ever ask for!
I love you so so much and hope you had a great one.
Yummy lunch at this Japanese place where we had to sit on the floor.
Nothing beats a good meal with family.
The garden outside the restaurant was super lovely.
Great food at a Tibetan/Indian restaurant, the perfect end to an awesome weekend.
I’m a teeny bit ashamed (yeah not really) to admit that I had way too much dessert this weekend, particularly in the chocolate department. But what can I say? I’m a chocolate lover at heart and special times definitely call for a little celebration.
Well, that’s it for today. Happy Monday everybody!
