Nothing like enjoying lunch at Fridays on a Friday with my lil sis.
We were feeling quite hot due to the high temps and humidity, so we both went for salads. I got the shanghai chicken salad,
while Joy ordered the cobb salad.
Both were absolutely delish. The appetizers also looked pretty good on the menu, but we weren’t confident in our abilities to finish them. Oh well, there’s always next time.
We have both been craving frozen yogurt for quite a while, so we headed off to hielo. At hielo, you can choose your own toppings, or go with their combinations, which have fun names like Victoria and Leo. We got the Olivia, which has strawberries, chocolate and mochi in it.
mochi+frozen yogurt=pure bliss
I definitely prefer frozen yogurt to ice cream, since it’s a bit lighter, though I probably added back all the calories with the toppings. Vanilla however, will always hold a special place in my heart, especially when it’s in brownie a la mode.
Then we went to sogo, so I could get this cute iphone case designed by katy perry for charity, which I have been wanting ever since I first laid my eyes on it a while ago.
Of course, no trip to sogo would be complete without visiting city super, which is definitely my favorite supermarket. You can find tons of things that are quite hard to find in supermarkets elsewhere in Taipei such as quinoa and greek yogurt, so the high prices can sort of be justified. I was so happy to spot a larger version of my fave coconut water as well as wasa crisp bread and almond butter.
yummy foods+me=one happy gal
I may have a eensy weensy obsession with super markets, but at least I buy healthy stuff, most of the time anyways.
I’m currently on week 3 of Blonde Ponytail’s Summer Shape Up Plan. The workouts are pretty short, ranging from 20 to 40 minutes, but are seriously intense. Perfect for the time strapped fellow I was prior to the college entrance exams. I followed the plan with some adjustments for when I felt like doing a longer run or was feeling lazy other workouts.
Yesterday morning, I woke up at fiveish but procrastinated till around eight. BIG MISTAKE!!! Running under the burning sun is highly uncomfortable, not to mention dodging all those people holding up umbrellas while leisurely strolling around the park. I only made it to 4 (very slow) miles, which was kinda a bummer, but then again, it’s been a while since I last ran. Gotta start building my mileage again and begin speed training since I’m oh so slow. YIKES!!!
Well, have a great weekend guys.
